PKI recently entered a
joint project with Pakistan Bait ul Maal (PBM), in which PBM sponsors
some of the patients of PKI undergoing complex surgeries and
Transplants.
The following charges are
excluded from PKI Package for PBM:

Consultant Fee
-
Nursing Fee
-
Anesthetist Fee
-
Operating Room Charges
-
Recovery Room Charges
-
ICU Charges
-
Hospital stoppages
But this project does not
cover Post Transplant Immunosuppression cost for these patients, which
is needed lifelong, once a transplant is done, in order to prevent
rejection of the precious life-giving organ donated by a loving
relative.
As a result, some of these patients are forced to sell their homes and
reduced to a life of beggary, with the constant threat of kidney
rejection hanging over their heads like a sword. |
