Shifa International Hospital (SIH)
The Shifa International Hospital was conceived and incorporated in 1985-1987 by a small group of Pakistani doctors and other health care professionals who were working in the USA. Since then the “Shifa Family” has grown from over 450 contributing members to being a public limited company listed on the stock exchange.
A major component of the healthcare delivery system is the level of biomedical technology that is used, especially in the field of diagnostic imaging. Along with radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging, the facility houses, C.T. Scan, MRI, Mammography, Mobile X-rays, C. Arms, Ultrasonography., Dialysis, Dental Clinic and Cardiac Cath Laboratory. The Department of Radiation Oncology has a Simulator, a Linear Accelerator and a Cobalt-60. In addition Shifa has an ongoing open heart surgery and renal transplantation program.
Shifa Foundation (SF)
Shifa Foundation is a not for profit organization, dedicated towards improving health status of the population of Pakistan, particularly the lower socio-economic group Its major projects include Shifa college of medicine, Pakistan Kidney institute and Tameer-e-Millat Foundation.
Shifa College of Medicine (SCM)
Shifa College of Medicine (SCM) was the first endeavor of Shifa Foundation which was achieved through Shifa Educational Council. Shifa College of Medicine is progressing as planned with its commitment to excellence in producing future doctors.
Tameer-e-Millat Foundation (TMF)
“Tameer-e-Millat” was a vision, a dream, and a passion, long before it became an organization devoted to the cause of Education promotion in Pakistan. It is the brainchild of a group of expatriate Pakistanis who moved back to the country with a commitment to serve their motherland. It was the truth of their promise that Tameer-e-Millat emerged as a non-discriminatory, non-partisan, and non-profit education-driven organization in 1987. It was formally registered on November 23, 1992.
TMF established its very first school at Khewra, District Jhelum in 1987 where more than 30 years back, TMF's Founder and Chairman, Dr. Zaheer Ahmad had acquired his initial schooling- a befitting tribute to his alma mater. After successful launch and administration of TMF’s first school, there was no looking back. School after school, TMF's educational endeavors multiplied unimpeded. From single-classroom Community Primary Schools to Model Schools, Schools of Excellence and full-fledged City of Education, TMF has come a long way in past 19 years and is now on its way to launching Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, an independent degree awarding institution. |
