Funding for Transplant patients for ongoing Immuno-suppressant
Medicines
in order to prevent rejection of the Transplanted Kidney: Our Transplant
patients, those that are treated independently by PKI, as well as those
treated under PKI-PBM Joint Project, face the grave threat of losing the
donated organ when these patients are no longer able to afford the
Immunosuppressant medications needed to prevent transplant rejection.
Immunosuppression
is needed lifelong once a transplant is done, in order to prevent
rejection of the precious life-giving organ donated by a loving
relative. As a result, some of these patients are forced to sell their
homes and reduced to a life of beggary, with the constant threat of
kidney rejection hanging over their heads like a sword.
Tragically some of our patients are even forced to refuse transplant
when informed of this ongoing cost once the transplant is done. PKI
wants to go a step ahead now, and offer Immunosuppression coverage to
those of our patients who are the most underprivileged.
You are requested to fund only 10 of PKI’s most deserving patients:
-
Approx. monthly cost of
Immunosuppression / patient: Rs. 25,000/-
-
Annual cost / patient: Rs. 300,000/-
-
Total annual cost of 10 patients: Rs.
3,000,000/-
