Established in April
2004 as a non- profit, charity organization, by a group of USA and UK
trained specialists, who returned to the motherland with the singular
desire of serving their suffering brethren as part of their social and
moral obligation, Pakistan Kidney Institute (PKI) has emerged as a
beacon of light to millions of people suffering from kidney problems in
Pakistan.
It is situated within the premises of Shifa International Hospital; a
600 bedded tertiary care hospital, and provides state of the art
treatments in Urology, Nephrology & Kidney Transplants to the
financially underprivileged patients, at par with the private patients
of Shifa International Hospital. To date PKI has provided services to a
total of 39,911 cases.

PKI offers state
of the art reconstructive surgeries, complicated cancer procedures
and low cost preventive procedures, including Kidney Transplants and
Dialysis services as a bridge to transplants.

PKI focuses
especially on young children and women.

More than 90% of
its budget is spent directly on the patients, with minimal overhead
expenses.

No fee is
charged by PKI’s physicians, surgeons and nurses for their
consultations.
