Gift of Life:
Meanwhile, patient
“U”- a 34 years old young lady, who had suffered from Kidney failure 4
years ago after the birth of her first baby, and did not have the option
of transplant due the unavailability of a family donor, was undergoing
dialysis twice a week. After 4 agonizing years, she was at the brink of
desperation and was praying to Allah swt to either end her trial or to
relieve her of this miserable existence. No words can express her joy
and gratitude when she received a call from one of PKI’s Nephrologists
informing her of the tragedy of the Shah family and their great act of
kindness in giving her a “Gift of Life” by donating their son’s kidneys.
She immediately underwent a successful transplant and was discharged
home within a week. She leads a happy life, as close to normal as
possible, enjoying the company of her daughter and trying to make up for
lost time. |
